I have been a terrible procrastinator today. I had planned on being a domestic goddess - I was going to clean the bathroom, do laundry and put away all the clean washing that's piled up on a chair in my bedroom.

Instead most of today has been spent on my couch, under a blanket, eating far too many simple carbs and drinking too much coffee. I'm a little buzzed. Oops? I've been listening to music and playing around on Dreamwidth. I've posted a... what are we calling them... a personal ad? An introduction? Either way, I've posted on [community profile] addme to find DW friends, and started just randomly commenting to people here and there. It's been a lot of fun and I've fully enjoyed spending a few hours exploring and figuring things out.

Hello to anyone who's joined me!

That's not to say I've achieved nothing. I've done one load of laundry, I've cooked dinner and I've taken Seamus out for a walk - although we didn't go very far. Neither of us particularly like the cold weather or the damp, and we both have joint issues. Both Seamus and Ziggy have appreciated a day curled up with me on the couch with warm fluffy blankets and the fire on.

The bathroom, especially, does need to get done so I'm going to have to do that when I've finished writing this. It's not a huge mess, but I've got a plumber coming tomorrow to look at my bath drain - it's being very sluggish, not draining properly and there's a bit of smell. I've used a drain snake, I've poured bleach down, I've used Mister Muscle. They all work for a while but then it starts again. I have a feeling it's a long hair clog further down, but I don't know how to take it all apart to look, and I don't want to risk fucking it up, so we get a professional in. But, of course, the bathroom has to pristine first, even though I know I'm going to want to clean it again when he's done!

Best get to it - wish me luck?

Lockdown 2.0 finds me furloughed again for at least the next month, and that finds me looking for a new hobby. Last lockdown I did a lot of baking and cooking, followed by a lot of eating because I had no-one to give what I'd made to. But because it was summer, I was able to get outside daily and exercise and enjoy the sunshine.

It's now November, it's cold (8c right now) and mostly dreary. I don't want to go outside, I want to stay curled up on my couch, under blankets, drinking coffee, reading, and listening to music. This is me, looking for a new hobby I can do from this comfortable position, and that brings me to blogging and Dreamwidth.

I've journalled on and off since I was a tween, I have books and books filled with my ramblings and now I get to fill the internet with them as well. How exciting. I'm mostly moving in, redecorating and making this place mine so please bear with me while I get my blog visitor-friendly - though that's not to say that visitors aren't welcome, you just need to ignore the cobwebs in the corner and the half-painted walls. Pretend it's Halloween decor
